VARSITY YOGA — coming to Little Switch Yoga in 2026!
Ever feel like you were a jock… I mean, secretly a jock? Like you had the drive, the grit, the gumption — but nobody ever handed blew the whistle, passed you the ball and said, “Alright, champ, let’s see what you’ve got!”
Varsity Yoga is your second chance. (Originally Agni wanted to call this class, “Sweaty Try-Hard Yoga”, if that gives you a clue!)
This is old-school physical culture with a modern edge: a flow-based class built for people who want to train, and who want results! Each session opens with heart-pumping, athletic movement to wake up the system, then transitions into focused strength and mobility work designed to build real, usable power.
Each six-week season (of seven total) zeroes in on specific performance goals:
1. Back, hip, and knee strength for hiking, climbing, and fall protection
2. Expanded hip range of motion (internal/external rotation and extension) for stronger squats, smoother running, and recovery from sitting and standing
3. Joint stabilization—especially knees, shoulders, and ankles—for arm and leg balances
4. Neck and upper back conditioning to undo the damage of modern text-neck and shoulder weakness
5. Hamstring & hip flexor mobility for full, supported splits
6. Shoulder strength for confident headstands and handstands
7. Core strength & spinal mobility to support deep, controlled backbends
This is training with intention, not posing for points. You’ll build strength, coordination, and confidence—learning how to move like an athlete (and recover like one too)!
And because a little friendly competition keeps the fire burning:
The top three students with the highest attendance for the year will earn a first, second, and third place prize. This is major BRAGGIN’ RIGHTS, Y’ALL!
So if you’ve got Olivia Newton-John’s “Physical” on repeat…
If you crave sweat, structure, and self-respect…
If you secretly want to wear that gym singlet to class, well then:
Varsity Yoga is calling.
Class is officially in session!
This class is the perfect compliment to the weekly Mobility & Longevity on Wednesdays (which is focused more on flexibility and mobility, especially joint health) or Flow & Let Go on Thursdays, which is a long-form class with a restorative cool-down.
